Depreciation refers to the reduction in value of an asset over time, or a decline in a currency's value relative to others.

What is Depreciation?

In accounting, depreciation spreads the cost of a tangible asset over its useful life.

In forex, currency depreciation means it takes more of that currency to buy the same amount of another currency.

Example of Depreciation

If a currency weakens from 1.10 to 1.05 against the U.S. dollar, it has depreciated.
