Global Markets

(A) Precious Metals

Gold: $4,147.78/oz (-0.32%)

Gold fell 0.32% to $4,147.78/oz, pressured by Fed rate-hike expectations and uncertainty ahead of U.S. CPI data, with annual inflation forecast at 3.6% versus 3.4% previously.

Markets priced a 22% probability of an October rate hike and 88% by December. However, a softer dollar and geopolitical tensions provided some support.

Silver: $58.46/oz (-1.19%)

Silver declined 1.19% to $58.46/oz, weighed down by interest-rate uncertainty, elevated borrowing costs and cautious positioning ahead of U.S. inflation data.

(B) Energy

Brent Crude: $106.32/bbl (+0.60%)

Brent rose 0.60% to $106.32/bbl, driven by renewed attacks on two vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and escalating strikes on Saudi energy infrastructure.

(C) FX
