What is a Good-Til-Cancelled Order?

Unlike day orders, which expire at the end of the trading session, GTC orders can remain open for an extended period.

Traders should monitor GTC orders regularly, as market conditions can change significantly while they remain active.

Example of Good-Til-Cancelled

A GTC buy limit order placed at $40 will stay active for weeks or months until it either fills or is cancelled.
