A buy limit order is an instruction to buy an asset at a specified price or lower.

What is a Buy Limit Order?

The order only executes at the limit price or better, giving traders control over their entry price.

It will not fill if the market never reaches the specified level.

Example of Buy Limit Order

Placing a buy limit order at $45 for a stock currently trading at $48 means the order only fills if the price falls to $45 or below.
