Bid Price Definition

The bid price is the highest price a buyer is willing to pay for an asset at a given time.

Back to Glossary

What is a Bid Price?

The bid price sits opposite the ask price, and the gap between them forms the bid-ask spread.

Sellers looking to exit a position immediately will typically receive the current bid price.

Example of Bid Price

If the bid price for a currency pair is 1.0850, that is the rate at which buyers are currently willing to purchase it.
